A concert on Trump’s border wall – the Dresdner Sinfoniker wants to make a political statement by playing a concert near Tijuana.
They were also supposed to play on the U-S side, but American authorities didn’t give them a permit. On June 3, musicians of the Dresdner Sinfoniker gave a concert on the border between the US and Mexico – to protest President Trump’s proposed wall project. A number of Mexican musicians also took part. The performance, held in Tijuana, was aimed at bringing people together, instead of keeping them apart. There’s lots of live music in Tijuana, but there’s never been anything like this. A concert on the American side of the border was also planned, but the authorities wouldn’t allow it. After that, a number of artists and other people around the world who support the concert’s vision decided to take a stand against border walls, nationalism, and fanaticism. They took photos of their activities and posted them on Instagram at #teardownthiswall. Can art really change the world?
