How is Poland’s next-generation living? What is the next generation in Poland thinking of their future? Is the next generation in Poland ready for the future, and how is it to be in northeastern Poland, as a student? What is the next generation think of politics?

Because the infrastructure in the Polish countryside is poorly regulated, many young people sleep at boarding schools during the week. In this episode, Dore travels to such a boarding school in northeastern Poland. There, like the students, she spent a few days in a small room with director Britta and her friend and researcher Verena.

A quarter of a million Poles live in the Netherlands. Dutch-Polish journalist Dore van Duivenbode is one of them. In this series, she travels back to her motherland, where she visits her family house near Oświęcim, former Auschwitz. In Bialowieza, in eastern Poland, she tries to find out why a forest is causing much tension. In Warsaw, she gets deeper into the hot topic of abortion. Here strong supporters and opponents are giving their perspective. Her travels bring her also to North Poland, where she meets a low-income family and talks with the famous and notorious opposition judge Igor Tuleya. A travel series about Poland, a country that is more and more divided and cursed by its geography location.

She is admitted to a group of friends, who takes her to their favorite hangout. They smoke, laugh, and openly talk about daily life in Poland, about dreams and the future.

Then she meets the famous and notorious opposition judge Igor Tuleya. The politicians of government parties endanger the independence of the court and therefore, the judges. He speaks openly about the dangers that this entails, but thereby jeopardizes his job. During one of his lectures, she encounters a former counselor who, clearly emotional, compares the current situation with a return to the authoritarian state.

Dore also goes to visit Maria in one of the most deprived areas of Warsaw. Mary’s life is dedicated to others. Uniquely, she helps people from whom little is expected by the rest of society.
