Goat Ball (2000) – The game of Buzkashi uses a decapitated goat in place of a ball. Allegedly invented by Genghis Khan, this is the chosen sport among Afghani refugees in northern Pakistan.

The game is played on horseback, and violence is permitted, even encouraged. Horses are trained to bite and kick, and injuries – occasionally even deaths – are common. This game is thought to go back centuries, and Afghanis fiercely defend it as a key element of their culture, which has been threatened time and time again.
